Bountiful council beefs up utility’s inventory

December 6, 2012

BOUNTIFUL — The city council has approved two separate transactions to replace inventory for the Bountiful City & Light Company.

The council voted recently to approve the purchase of two 15KV underground fused switch/fuse cans for $24,650 and also voted to spend $75,312 to replenish the utility’s inventory of transformers. Any expenditure of more than $10,000 for the city-owned utility requires council approval.

The lead time for the transformers and fuses is at least eight weeks so officials are hoping to stay ahead of needs in replenishing the inventory.

Bountiful is one of 40 Utah cities to have its own utility company.
