The Society of Creative Anachronism is celebrating it’s 50th anniversary this year.
By: Briana Scroggins – From the rolling hills of Misuku, Malawi, Africa to the mountains of Utah, Briana Scroggins, of Ogden, has taken photos around the world and back.
As a photojournalism major from Western Kentucky University, she has followed her passion for story telling and people through writing, still photography and video. Since graduating from WKU in 2008, Briana has had internships at the Florida Times-Union in Jacksonville, the Midland Daily News in Michigan, the Knoxville News-Sentinel in Tennessee, and has freelanced for the Lexington Herald-Leader in Kentucky. From 2010 to 2012 she dedicated her time serving with the Peace Corps as a Community Health Advisor in Malawi, Africa. “Jambuleco! Jambuleco,” she recalls the Malawian children calling to her, which was politely asking her to take their photo.
She enjoys spending her free time with her black lab Chikaya [Chikaya means “Community” in Chindali, her prominent African language] and also enjoys dancing Lindy Hop, Blues and is currently taking Aerials classes.
