OGDEN — In a first for the franchise, the Ogden Raptors welcomed fans to Lindquist Field for a preseason FanFest on Saturday, June 17.
About 500 fans enjoyed burgers, beer, baseball and the BassMint Pros to celebrate the open of the 2017 season.

The Ogden-based hop-rock band performed for the crowd while it watched the main event — 52 hopefuls swinging to win season tickets in a fan home run derby.
Participants from 9 to 69 years old tried their hand. In the end, four hitters left the yard to win tickets. Breck Snyder of Syracuse was the first to hit a home run, and Michael Harris of Layton also hit a shot to win a pair of season tickets.
Justin Flinders of West Haven, who just finished his senior season at Fremont High School, and Dakota Combe of Ogden, who was the final batter of the night, each hit two homers to win four season tickets.
The FanFest precedes the Raptors’ season opener Monday, a game that begins a two-game series in Orem.
Ogden’s home opener is set for 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 21, at Lindquist Field. The night will include post-game fireworks and the season’s first daily promotion, Ugly Outfit Wednesday. Fans wearing ugly outfits could win gift cards and other prizes.
