Carson White has lived in Ogden for all of his 17 years and said with the passing of each one, the city continues to get better.

White, an Ogden High School student and football, basketball and track athlete, loves the stores and restaurants on 25th Street: Waffle Love, Coldstone Creamery, Lucky Slice Pizza, Roosters Brewing.

“I don’t think I’ve ever been anywhere and thought ‘Man I don’t feel safe in Ogden,’” he said.

White wants to go on a the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints mission after he graduates from high school and afterward plans to return to Ogden and attend Weber State University.

“I hope to continue to live here,” he said. “I love it. I don’t really want to live anywhere else.”

Despite loving his hometown, White knows there are people who think of Ogden as “ghetto.”

“People who say it haven't actually been here,” he said. “I feel like they’re looking from the outside.”
