Perinatal mood disorders an untreated problem for many Utah moms

Data from the 2004 Utah Pregnancy Risk Assessment Monitoring System showed that of the 1 in 7 mothers who reported postpartum depression, 60 percent did not seek help from a medical professional.

Stigma and access are the two main problems facing Utah mothers, according to Amy-Rose White, founder and executive director of the Utah Maternal Mental Health Collaborative.
